As part of the app’s evolution, Standard Bank sought a refreshed brand identity that would resonate deeply with South African users while modernising the visual language of the platform.
The branding solution focused on refining the logo and visual assets to reflect both functionality and local relevance. The goal was to retain the recognisable essence of the original logo while giving it a more contemporary and polished look. Central to the redesign was the use of the Ubuntu typeface, a font that not only reflects warmth and inclusivity but also captures the spirit of community and resilience that defines the South African identity. This human-centred approach gave the brand a friendly, confident feel while staying aligned with Standard Bank’s broader visual language.
